Just received my '73 factory V8's V5C back from DVLA, revised to 'historic' status, complete with a year's worth of road tax, free of charge. smile

I'd read elsewhere of people's varying success rates at local post offices. Everything from 'no problem sir' to 'never heard of it, know nothing, can't do it'.

So I decided to play safe and collect up all the necessary paperwork and application form and send it off to the nice people at Swansea with a covering letter. Two weeks later, bingo!

The documentation was returned first with the new tax disc and the revised V5C followed the next day separately. Happy bunny! bounce

I know a lot of people like to knock the DVLA but in my numerous dealings with them (historic changes, cherished plate transfers etc) they have always been polite and efficient.

Enjoy your "tax free" motoring smile

I've very happy with the DVLA and have always found them to be good

but the DVLA, the Government and 'THEM' do have a list of PHers they've chosen (not at random you'd hope) to all persecute as often as possible to make these PHers' lives more difficult than they already are - sheer wanton victimisation against these innocents, who will protect them cry
