So you buy a modified MGB and think ought to, maybe, join an MG car club....then you find there are shedloads of them well at least 3. Anybody any ideas as to the best of the bunch for techie help, regional stuff etc, but not polishing and sitting around in fields please. (Oh lord how many is that going to upset!)

Alex, both MGCC and MGOC have plenty of polishing type folk: the same as all Clubs. As I'm only 20mins from Abingdon I do prefer the MGCC as they're on the doorstep, have a more informative magazine and good local gatherings. Have taken a look at your PH garage...may be join the local MGCC guys and girls, take your Sebring along, make new friends and generally enjoy MG'ing...there are some interesting folk out there. BTW, tell me about your Sebring...post some pics for us all.

PS I do like the AC...

yep to be fair most car clubs do, and fair enough, I do a bit of that myself (polishing)....See you have a V8 B roadster, strangely I looked at one y'day before buying this modified car - its not an original of course! New Heriatge shell, Sebring style, half race engine, all very nice! Have yet to get it in the garage tho....Agree, I quite like the Ace too. Thanks for thoughts, I guess its down to which club has best regional presence, in my case South West, or Devon

Alex, whereabouts in Devon are you????

I'm the Regional Secretary for the SW and there are 3 local MGOC Area clubs in Devon which are very active and you would be assured a warm welcome.

From experience I would not join the MGCC out of choice. I can't comment on the MGOC apart from they have a pretty good spares dept. which are quite helpful if you need to know how something goes back together etc.

Am near Teignmouth, so poss go along to, I think, the Exeter do which is quite close and tomorrow eve. Am still pretty confused by what the 2 clubs stand for but in the end i guess its who you meet and what goes on rather than whether its club A or B....
