Has anybody tried the Nexen N6000 tyres on the back of an MG TF? If so please tell me what they're like. They're currently £68 from eTyres who've given decent service.

This is the 215/40 ZR16 86 W specification.

Is W the correct speed rating?

There's also a Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 for similar money from Black Circles. I haven't used BlackCircles what are they like?

sorry I can't help with the tyres but I'd suggest you do a (site) search on here or elsewhere as F and (modern) TFs are very tyre specific for good handling

W is the speed rating (up to 168 mph for 10 minutes) see speed rating and load indices on link, but do bear in mind that tyres designed for heavy high speed saloons might not work so well on a light sports car - http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html

many owners also neglect geometry checks which can make a big difference to the handling and road holding of the car

also often forgotten are worn suspension bushes instead dampers and shocks are changed unnecessarily

From my reading on the various MGF forums, the MGF is supposed to be "choosy" about its rubber http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/tyres/ is worth a read.

I'm looking at a set of Toyo T1R's next...

I've just changed my fronts and am about to change the rears on my TF. Was going to stay with Goodyear then had my attention drawn to this

Am going with Toyo T1 Rs which meets with MG's approval

Can recommend Toyo T1-R's-ironically they've been crap on every car I've had them on apart from my MGF Trophy, where they were superb.
