Had my F for about 4 years now, lovely car to drive, had been a dream to own one since driving one on a track day back when they were new(ish).
Rather foolishly I purchased mine based on colour (amaranth) a colour I like, and one which is fairly uncommon.
Just got back from a weeks holiday in the West Country via the back of an RAC recovery vehicle, the car has let me down once too often.
Due to the way the car is made, there are two cables that connect the gear stick to the gearbox, mine now only has one.
Apparently it's a pig a job, so I will be getting it done, cutting my losses, and selling it.
Ironically we were transported back from the West Country by the same driver who brought us back when the clutch went three years ago on our last holiday down that way, the driver remembered me and the car.

Chin up mate. I lost my clutch master cylinder on the TVR during the drive home from buying it, and arrived on an AA truck. The following weekend the slave cylinder died and I came home once again on an AA truck. I was muttering about getting rid again at that point. Glad I didn't know.

All cars get to an age where things stop working properly - trust me. Even Hondas and Toyotas. Some are better than others but I think you should fix your gear selector cables (very common way of doing it these days) and drive it again.

I guess the million dollar question is "what would you rather have?".
