Tracking down a particular MG Midget

Hi all,

When I was 17 I was fortunate enough to have a 1972 round-arch Midget as my first car. I owned it for about 3 years and sold it to a young chap in Portsmouth in 1994. And I've suddenly got a huge desire to find out if it still exists...and buy it back if the current owner will sell it. I actually saw it advertised some years later, and went to see it. This was about 2002/3. At the time, I wasn't in a position to buy it and also had nowhere to store it even if I had.

I know the registration number (KFH 730K), or at least that was what it was when I had it. And I've got copies of the reg document, so I know the VIN etc as well.

So how does one go about finding the present owner of a car?

So it's saying unlicensed...but not SORN. That worries me as maybe it's been scrapped...or someone's traded it in on the scrappage scheme for a bloody Hyundai!

I suppose it could also be on a cherished reg plate now...maybe the record for an old reg plate only returns this kind of data, without the link to the new plate number.
