Strong Demand for MGB?
Discussion
Sold my GT this weekend (a '73 with a proper body refurb) having only been on the market a day. Researched the market pretty well before I priced it but was amazed at the response especially as I attempted to move it last year when all I got was tyre kickers and buyers looking for a concours car at sub £5k.
So was I lucky or did the one year move on road tax exemption make the difference?

You only need the one person, I advertised my 1978 B last year and one chap contacted me within the week with an offer to buy it, collect and drive back to France, the following week, he brought cash ( the asking price £7500 ) and all went very smoothly, I do miss it now though.
Its all about a well laid out advert, and the right person seeing it, and obviously a correctly valued car.

I used one of the better known free classic car online sites for mine but the options are endless! On the basis of the responses I had, people are quite prepared to travel but did like to chat!
I chose to go to the market just before a bank holiday weekend, not sure if that helped but hey, the car has gone so job done!

This is what i just did, googled mgb for sale uk, found one in northern ireland, called up guy, said i want it, booked flights to dublin , got coach to belfast, went to see car handed over asking price cash, drove to ferry to liverpool, currently on route there, later will drive to leeds and get it shipped to Malta. Happy days.
