Hi All

I'm looking for a reasonably priced set of alloys and a smaller steering wheel. Any suggestions on where to look other that fleabay?

Struggling to get in and out with the massive standard steering wheel!

Cheers Karl

New minilite style alloys are about £75 each from usual suppliers like Brown and Gammons, MGOC or MGB Hive. They do sets with tyres if you need them.
Along with used wheels which regularly come up, there are some sellers advertising new ones on Ebay.
A friend just bought an immaculate Mota-Lita steering wheel on Ebay, the steering wheel new is about £110 and the boss about £50. He paid about £50 all in.
If you're happy with a cheaper steering wheel, take a look at the Mountney ones. smile

Karl,
I'd suggest not going too small with the steering wheel as combined with much over sized wheels/tyres you could lose the sweet feel of Midget steering

I'd also recommend greasing the 6 front suspension points every 3 months, and just before the MoT, as the car is new to you I'd grease them ASAP and keep pumping until only clean grease comes out as you don't know the age and use of the grease already in there and it's very important to keep those 6 points well greased

the other grease points such as (you may or may not have on your car) TREs, handbrake, UJs every 6 months

I've got the full 15.5" steering wheel and it's surprisingly direct

the Rostyle wheels are 4.5" rims and minilite copies usually start at 5" which is no problem

standard tyres are 145/80/13, the MGOC wheel/tyre package at least offers 155/70/13 tyres which very slightly effects your speedo (might make it slightly less accurate or could even make it more accurate)

calculator for tyres half way down this page plus loads of info on this page and the others - http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html

OP, as above don't go too small with steering wheel diameter...you'll regret it. ref' minator alloys, mgb hive always have excellent pricing on a set of four wheels. see...

Nigel, filters still red! Gave car a bit of a tune up and supposed to be out in it Sunday and Monday but weather forecast could put a dampner on things.
Hi Andrew as well, have you both heard of the owners club weekend birthday gathering on 13/14th July at Swavesy? Perhaps I'll start a new thread on it nearer the time.smilesmile
