MGF Engine Removal
Discussion
My friend's MGF has engine head problems (it was knocking and then stopped altogether) and I need to remove it from the car to work on. I think the cam belt's broken and has probably bend the valves. Do I need to remove the whole engine from the car and if so what's the procedure?
Any advice greatly appreciated

I recommend you get the head off and check it for warp - beware also classic head gasket failure for K series...

I have a 4,000 mile K series head in my garage from an Elise. It belongs to my brother and is in pretty good condition. He bought the engine for his elise when his modified 190 siezed and never needed this head, only the block.
I can send on some photographs and ask him about price if you like.
