I'll be there. Also, anyone going to the Eric Carlsson evening on Wednesday night? See/contact

From: Zenya Heap <zen@a-pc.net>

Dear Sirs,
I would be grateful if you would be so kind to invite your members to the below evening, in case it's of interest. Also attached is a flyer, if you prefer.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Zenya

Dear All,

I am glad to confirm we have the pleasure of welcoming Erik Carlsson to speak at the Oxford Motor Club April club evening. Stuart Turner will accompany him, who partnered Erik on his first RAC Rally win, and who later tried (unsuccessfully!) to get Erik to drive Minis when he was running the BMC Competitions Department.

Erik Carlsson is otherwise known as Mr Saab because of his successful career as a rally driver and public relations work for the company. He has much experience in rallying and has many interesting stories to tell of his exploits. Erik Carlsson is someone for whom the word legend might have been invented. A Saab driver from the 1950s until he retired in 1967 and a company spokesman for the next thirty years, Erik is the most famous of all the Saab rally drivers.

It is often said that he invented the rally technique of 'left foot braking' and when asked why he seemed to take his Saab fearlessly over brows without lifting off, Erik replied, "Well, road must go somewhere." He cemented his reputation for all time with two Monte Carlo Rally wins, three RAC Rally wins and countless other successes.

The meeting has been arranged for Wednesday 3rd April 2013, from 8pm for an 8.30pm start at the Oxfordshire Inn (OX5 3DX), in the Blenheim Room. Everyone is welcome, so please invite along all your friends and associates. The greater the audience, the better!! We'll look forward to your company for the evening.

Many thanks,
Zenya Heap

I'd love to go, but can't. I'll make it one year, but for the time being I'll have to make do with pictures. I might have time to go to a V8 Mentalists meet in the morning, though.
