sorry to be a pain - im going to try and make contact today or tomorrow about this car.
i have been reading about the ZT, they seem reliable enough, the the forum does highlight several area of concern

I noticed the 1060/1600 plaque photo - anyones previous car as it can be ID'd pretty easily by that!

Has anyone on here had previous dealings with an MG ZT 2.0cdti??

anyone been to see this one and noticed anything that would save me a trip up to it please??

cheers
John

I think that numbering is off a limited edition MG TF - I could be wrong - but I dont think I am! There were no such numbered ZT's

Such good looking cars... That is just like my CDTI, except mine is an estate, better specc'd and cheaper wink All I need to do is to get round to advertising it....

ps, I'm sorry I didnt really answer your question. They are great cars, fast from A - B, fabulous looking, well built and in my experience wholly reliable. Far far more interesting that some German neighbour pleaser. Go for it!

There's a useful buyers guide on the MG/Rover forums if you can find it which would be well worth a look before you look at this car. Mine's a ZT-T CDTi, I've had it for three, maybe four years now and the mileage is up to 144k (83k when I bought it). Mechanically I've had the usual servicing stuff replaced plus the clutch assembly which isn't cheap but I guess that goes for any car. Main problems have involved electrics which I'm told are BMW (starting problems related to charging faults and satnav plus odd behaviour by the wipers amongst other things). But it's a lovely car to drive, nice interior with very comfy and supportive seats, reattle free and still looks pretty good (18" wheels on my BRG example). From what I've seen, diesel prices seem to have levelled out so probably a good time to buy one.

I bought a 2003 ZT CDTI + 83,000 miles with alcantara and cruise control in September 2009 for £2,750. It had some lacquer peel on the front bumper but aside from that, was a genuine and trouble free car.

I can't believe that 3 and a 1/2 years on a similar car is asking for my than I paid for mine!
