Seat choices for MG sebring replica

Hi all,

Am having a MG sebring replica built with my Dad and would be interested in any thoughts on seats...

Personally I wanted some reasonably period looking seats and I bought a pair of Cobra Classics that had been retrimmed in leather.

My Dad though is not impressed with them from a safety point of view (they do feel quite insubstantial)!

So, any ideas what would be safe but also look ok? Or should I just get some modern Recaros (pole position or something similar)
