MG6 magnette TSE in black
Discussion
Hello there,
Have been to see one and in general it looks a tasty.car. Black in TSE spec, so the better interior and the black exterior bits don't stand out too much, like the damn sill trim strips! In that spec and colour it looks quite classy.
What I'm not liking are the details like wheelarch spotwelds, is this a common feature as to be honest I haven't seen another new car with visible spotwelds. Is it a corrosion risk? Also exterior trim like the rear badge and boot handle.trim feels creaky. I have seen that updates like additional chrome trim is being added to the window edges,.has anyone got confirmation of that? Inside for me the quality was akin to a Kia,but no worse.
Anyone think similar or otherwise?

just read an interesting piece on the MG6 Diesel, all seems very positive which really does make a refreshing change.
however what was really promising is the news that MG has listened to buyers of the early MG6'S and change and updated the interior trim finishes to a superior quality already!!
good news allround it seems.

I have no issue with the point of reference. I do not believe however that you are an impartial forum member, and suspect that you have a financial connection with the manufacturer of the MG in question. If my response was rude please accept my apologies.
As a new member of this forum i really dont see why i should justify what and why i post what i do. However in this instance i will make an exception, i am an MG fan pure and simple, i previouly worked at two MG/Rover dealerships for around nine years and i currently drive an almost 10yr old MG Z-TT. I Simply like the cars, i know of there inconsistencies and shortcomings yet still like them. You have no basis whatsoever for your assumption that i am 'financially' connected to the manufacturer, it made me laugh out loud actually!!!
i suggest you may wish to concentrate of the marque that you prefer instead of trying to undermine or belittle others who have a genuine interest in the own favorite marques.
Thank you.

Your first post as a forum member on the day you joined Pistonheads, to be frank sounded like a PR release from a manufacturer. Now perhaps I'm wrong and I note that whilst you laugh at my suggestion that you have a financial connection to the manufacturer. You do not say specifically that you haven't. You then go on to admit you have a fair number of years under your belt with the old MG network...Just what is it you do for a living now?. With regards to sticking with what I like do I stick with my old Saab Turbos my Alfa Romeos a few BMW's and a multitude of good and bad in-between...even a ropey E-type for a little(expensive while). I didn't set out to offend a new member to the fold,I was just aware that a few posts recently have had a rather dubious provenance. If I have you wrong,I apologise unreservedly and look forward to all the forthcoming anecdotes from your MG years.
