Hello everyone,
I've been a Yellow ZR+ 120 5dr owner for 10 years! Bought from new, loved every mile more than anyone would ever understand - except you lot probably. Unfortunately it's time to move on and I've been looking at some other cars. My ZR has a few scapes and scratches here and there, needs a great big clean - but it's still a lovely motor. Do any of you guys have any advice for selling it so I can maximise any return on it?

Would anyone be interested in it for parts for example if you race them?

Thanks for any help,

Marc

Visit any of the car sites for MGs and Rovers where these cars are more highly regarded than is often the case on this site. You say 'for parts'... is it now a worn out old banger or a well maintained tidy example? If the latter then a couple of hours careful cleaning and polishing the bodywork, interior and also the engine and compartment can make any car have more appeal.

If I look at a car for sale I check the condition of the coolant and oil and their levels. Look at the Air and Oil filters too as their condition can be a reliable indicator of a well cared for car.

Then research For sale ads and see what folks are asking ~ asking which is rarely the same as what cars eventually change hands for.

Good luck.

One final word of good advice. Do NOT part exchange it no matter what. ALWAYS sell privately and haggle a BIG discount on the car you buy which you can do with no part exchange involved. Even if you do not get much for it in a private sale, a decent discount on the car you buy will more than offset that if you are patient and careful.
