17 Year Old Insurance for MG Midget. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Discussion
I need insurance for an MG Midget 1978. I have a quote from quick fit insurance for £3100 but i have to get it down to atleast £2500 to make it possible. My parents are pressuring me to get a new car,"more sensible" but i have learnt in this car, I love driving it, and am desperate to keep it once i pass. Does anyone know how i can get it down this last bit? Any ideas?
Hi Micheal, congratulations on getting your Midget, I got mine when I was 17 too and that was 18 years ago now! Anyway, I'd suggest trying your insurance through the MG Owners Club. They do classic policies through Lancaster Insurance and they might be good for you. The policies are usually agreed valuation and there are a range of annual mileages. The only minus for you is you don't always earn no claims bonus years on some of these, but there should be something to suit you and it should be less than 2.5k! Good luck.

Classic car insurance is usually predicated on you already having insurance on another car, not with it as your only one !
yes but not alwaysif you're older it can be your only car, no garage, unlimited milage, agreed value, UK and European breakdown cover, leagal cover, fully comprehensive cover so you can drive other cars TP, modified car, other named driver, low excess - all for low premiums
of course you can get restrictive 'classic' policies - car must be in garage at set times, limited mileage, ect. - but why be restricted if you don't need to be
