Hi,
I'm looking for a supplier of MGB front stub axles, preferrably in Scotland. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Ouch.

That's a hub that someone hasn't understood how to set taper roller bearings properly and just used the nip it up till tight approach.

They must always be backed off slightly after tightnening and should have a small amount of play to allow for expansion.

It was set up as per the Haynes Manual, using the correct torque and shims.

Because of my own stupidity, I forgot to order a new castle nut for my hub and only realised this on Thursday afternoon, so I gave Chic Doig a call just before 5pm to see if they had one in stock only to be told that they did but would be closed on Friday and wouldn't re-open until Monday as they were off to a show. They did however stay open until I drove the 40 miles down to get one, and they didn't even charge for it!
Top marks!
