Ok this is the biggest engine ive heard of so far in a fairly standard Mk1 midget.

Rover V8 I believe the 3.5 apparently this conversion was done in the 70's, the engine is mounted to an auto gearbox.

He says you put it in drive and hang on

Its being sold cannot remember the chaps name but thought with this being such a mad beast someone might want a look before it gets sold.

It is certainly the biggest engine but not the most BHP I've seen!

Scare me, what the highest BHP you have seen. I always thought the K series 1.8 was frighteningly quick.

Nothing that scary 220ish BHP , there have been one or two which I am convinced have more but I would be loathe to guess

Though I have plans....(proabaly not a good idea as I struggle with a lot less than that)

well im struggling with this turbo, well im mostly waiting for people to come with parts ie, exhaust downpipe, and a bango connector for my fuel pump. Almost everything else is done, bonnet closes without hitting the carb or my one off plenum chamber. Got a tiny bit of pluming work to do for the oil return from the turbo so that I dont have to bend the plastic pipe going into the sump.

It realy looks rather good. Almost as if it belonged there. Im expecting just under 100bhp as im not modifying the engine, or fitting an intercooler so wont be going above 7-10psi

Back in the 70s I briefly drove a Mk 1 Sprite fitted with a 4.2 XK motor. Rear suspension came from an Elan. I think that is probably the biggest, in physical terms, motor you could put in to a Spridget.I've heard rumours of small block yanks being transplanted but never tracked one down.

The Jag Sprite must have cost a packet to build but the footwells were cramped as hell and it didn't want to go around corners, sounded good though.

There was also a JagMinor and a Janglia from the same garage, they were a much better prospect.
