MG TF charging problem
Discussion
Hi All
I was driving my 2004 TF 135 on wednesday when my battery light came straight on followed by my abs lights. I headed home and within 10 miles my battery was all but flat. I've tested the voltage at the battery and its the same running or not ie not charging. I've also removed the alternator from the car and checked the bearings and all seems fine. Does anyone have any idea's to testing the regulator or any other idea's? the cars only done 35000 miles.
Many thanks

Don't you just love MG's, i replaced the regulator on the alternator and for 2 months the cars been fine. When for a drive today (its a summer car and we've had no summer). While accelerating from an island the light came on again and the car smelt of burning/rubber. I stoppped the car and restarted and the light comes on but is intermittent and goes out sometimes. I suspect a fault regulator again as the alternator feels fine and has only done 35000 miles. Does anyone have any idea's?
Many thanks
