MG Launch TF Special Edition

A new TF "Spark" Special Edition is being launched today this week by MG.

Key features include a windstop for hood down pleasure, MG embroidered Alcantaraâ sports seats and a new Charcoal Grey hood fabric.

Available with either the 115, 135 or 160Ps engine outputs, all Spark SE models feature Gunsmoke and black Alcantara seats and door inserts with an embroidered MG octagon badge on the seat backs. An alloy finish insert on the centre console is complemented with alloy finish inserts on doors. Further specification features to the interior include an alloy finish/black leather steering wheel, a chrome ashtray and handbrake button, a Momo leather/alloy gear knob, windstop and Sony CDX-2000 CD player with red illumination.

The exterior is distinguished by a chrome ‘Spark’ boot badge. Bright pack items include the front, side and rear mesh grilles and are complemented by the bright door handles, front fog lamps and Charcoal Grey hood fabric. The specification also includes AP Racing large front disc brakes and callipers, and 11-spoke alloy wheels with the latest shadow chrome finish.

1000 Spark SEs are being produced for the UK market. Orders can be placed through the UK dealer network. Performance and economy are similar to the originating donor models.

Prices start at £17,445 on the road.

Ahhh the old "We've got a thousand cars we cant shift - quick stick a badge on them and some extra trim - ramp the price up and call them special editions...."

Would you be applying the same wit if the car was an MX5?? The have been having "Special editions" for years. Have a look at the sector sales figures.

Actually I don't think they have problems selling the TF ... it is a real boom over here and they sell what they can produce without even advertising it.

If so, I think the only clue is to have a reason to rise the price a bit.
