Well an MGB shell anyway! I only wanted the shell because I am going to build a street/strip car with it and see no reason to butcher a good car. There's a lot of rot underneath but panels are available for pretty much all of it. Plans include Z22SE engine, full cage, white paint, minilite wheels.

My progress can followed here if you're interested:

There won't be much action initially as I have a few other things to sort out before I start on the car in earnest but once I do I shall try to keep the page regularly updated smile

Found an Aluminium bonnet for it on eBay and started to construct a dolly to make the build easier. Am actually close to getting a rotisserie too, The car has been off the road since 1985(!) looks to have been resprayed many moons ago but any rust at the time was treated with a good dose of "filler". The floor panels and boot floor look ok. All sills, rear arches in & out, valance fr & rr, and the lower horizontal front panel will all need replacing. The fr wings are full of bondo around the lamps and will be replaced with fibreglass items. The doors aren't too bad but fibreglass replacements beckon. The rear tailgate is actually not bad at all, but again i'm going to use a fibreglass one. Rear quarters are not good in the area of the window corner, and the panel seam. This I will attempt to repair due to the high cost of these panels. All in all after my initial assesment I'm glad I have a full fullsize bottle of argoshield! I suspect a spot-weld drill might be a worthy investment too..
On the subject of chopping out the panels, does anyone have any advice they'd like to share re what is the best order to replace them in if you have a lot to do? I will tack in plenty of braces before I starting cutting bits out, and I know the GT will likely flex a lot less than a roadster shell but I'd still like to know in advance if there's anything that could really bend the shell! I wanted to pre-fit the bonnet while the original wings are still in place in order to get it in the right place for when fitting the 'glass wings comes around. (The fibreglass wings apparently are not supplied drilled so require some work to get a great fit.)
