Are MG6's going to sell well?
Discussion
Just wondering really......
I have only seen 2. Has anyone else seen any, what are the sales figures like so far anyone know?
Must admit I'm a massive fan of the ZS & ZT range, not too sure about the styling of the MG6 and the others that will supposedly follow.....far too Japanese like for Me!

I have spotted a couple on my travels, but certainly not many.
I believe sales are around 100 a month currently, which is a bit poor.
I don't know what effect entering the BTCC this year will have, but suspect it wont result in the sales boost MG are no doubt anticipating.
As a TF and ZT owner, the MG6 just doesn't appeal to me. It lacks the character and different styling you used to get with an MG. The MG6 is too bland and generic IMO, the design has been toned down so much you could stick the badge of almost any Japanese manufacturer on it without it looking out of place.
I just hope they don't follow the same path with the forthcoming MG3 and actually give it some sporty appeal.

Yes nor Me, far too bland. I think the new MG3 is going to look like another boring hatchback to be honest, think I have seen some pictures.
IMO its a crime that the Chinese were allowed to get involved.......had the company survived in UK hands then I'm sure this level of blandness would not have happened!
Hopefully the Z range of cars will survive in numbers as I'm sure they will appeal as classics in the future, unlike 95% of the other soul less stuff thats driving around these days!

Considering the saloon MGs were the poor relations in terms of sales, desirability and residual values all the way through history, and even though I quite like certain cars mainly the 11/1300 metro and Maestro turbo to stick an MG badge on them was an insult. Their desirability showed this fact too.
The last batch of MGised Rovers were worst still with shonky old designs going out with ridiculous bodykits, lexus lights, silly vents, lairy interiors to try to sell a car about as desirable as a dose of the clap.
The sad thing from the last batch was the F/TF and 75/ZT were fantastic cars, had they knocked the rest on the head and produced a luxury rover with the proper effort it deserved, a breathed on version for MG and an MG sports car then MG/Rover might still be here now.
But no I don't think stuffing an MG badge on a generic chinese car will make it sell, the sooner they pull the monstrosity out of the UK the better, I'm sure it will sell in China but over here it's just sad to see.
What happens with the TF only time will tell, but it needs a serious revamp to get with the times, and the engine issues need to go away before it gets taken seriously.
All IMO
