Where is everyone?
Discussion
I'm here.
We all just sit and wait for someone to write an interesting post about their MG!
I think the trouble is that they are so reliable that there is rarely a need to post regarding repairs or faults!!
(BTW, My carbs have been off all week, new floats and a bit of a clean out because they were over-flowing. Will have to give it a tune up at some point.)

There are lots of other MG forums out there, especially for the modern MG's.
The MG BBS is still fairy active and the MGCC's forum is starting to get busier.
I think the main reason for the quietness in the MG area on here is that the poor attitude of the general pistonheads membership towards the marque puts a lot of MG owners off. The general memberships interest seems to be in German saloons & MX5's, which doesn't really help.
I had even been interested in attending my local Pistonheads monthly meet as its only 5 mins down the road, but after spending a bit of time in the general forum I quickly realised that because I own cars that are inexpensive and british I wouldn't fit in, so I decided against it.

Balderdash. Get to the meets! I would love to have seen/heard your 260. Get to the hoons! My inexpensive MG ZS 180 was never ridiculed. Praised, even, for being more capable than people assumed.
I would post, if I had not have sold the ZS.
I think it's a bit of everything mentioned before plus of course many of the older MGs only go out to the annual MoT and show or a rare sunny, warm, summer Sunday brief run
what say you Tony
I do agree with Steve a bit on the runs, my mate has tried getting the local PHers on runs and unles a heroworship car is going to be present the attendance will be low if any at all - of course the other side is that Steve you might be a bit too sensitive or too nerdy about your particular model - in the end every car is just a lump of metal (or fibreglass, or plastic or composite or whatever) they all have faults, there's always an alternative car or model that's better, faster, quicker, better looking, no matter what car turns up
not all the cars are owned by arses - but mine might be

I'll jump in as well then!
Along with my GT, I've just added this little ZR to the collection which I've bought to replace my rather flattened blue rally version. It came with a very dead engine. So far I've just swapped the motor and given it a clean, now the real work can begin! Seems daft that a car this tidy can be bought for a few hundred pounds but I guess that's supply and demand.

Not sure how "clubby" or forum oriented MG owners are especially those with later models. I've had my ZT-T for almost three years now and can't remember a flash of headlights or a wave from fellow ZT owners in all of that time, except once last year on the way to Zed Ten at Duxford. Would love to go to a PH meet but not sure of how welcome I'd be, especially as it's a diesel.
I loiter, finished doing the head gasket on my ZR 120 about a month ago and so far have done about 1000 trouble free miles. Need to do another oil change soon just to be sure and then it's on to sorting out the rust worm in the bodywork!
About a week after fixing my MG we very nearly blew another one up rallying when a stone managed to punch a hole in the oil filter and it all decided to leave the engine. Luckily we stopped before doing any lasting damage to the engine.
Nice car that one, allegedly an ex works ZR although I've not seen any paperwork to say for certain.
I'll bet it was the downhill 90right before the photographer in first half?
We came over the top of there and crapped ourselves with a big moment before slithering through with the comment "someone's going to go off down there".

Well you're describing the incident perfectly but it was the Guy Fawkes last November (both SHMC events so could be the same road used?) Suffice to say i only made about 45deg before it all went wrong. Photographer caught it all but possibly imprudent to post those pics up, suffice to say it needed a bit more than a polish when I looked at in the daylight!I'll bet it was the downhill 90right before the photographer in first half?

Ah yes sorry I meant the Guy Fawkes!I suppose if you're going to do it then it may as well happen in front of the photographer!
Are you preparing this one or buying another? We were lucky when we rolled on the Exmoor endurance a couple of years ago and were out again in the Rover in less than a month, not half as bad as yours though!
Yes, the yellow one is the replacement. Another classic eBay moment, it's totally mint but was being sold as a non runner with suspected HGF, picked it up with a long MoT and new tyres for £400. Turned out to have a hole in a piston so I've swapped the engine from the blue one. Now the longer haul of cage/suspension/guards/electrics etc to do and aiming for the Myotis in May.
I bought the blue one already prepared.....now I remember why!
