Just love my Midget more fun than the porsche
Discussion
Now i have had my MG for just 2 weeks ........................
I have got and be honest ,that at the moment i rather drive my MG than my 911, i know it sounds crazy ,but what a cute little car the Midget is, its only got 65BHP compared with 230BHP just love the noise and ride .
I am sure that the novelty will wear of , but hopefully not yet
What a great buy

by reading the Driver's Handbook
doing the 36k service
driving it regularly
it will get better and better
and keep up full and proper regular servicing, maintenance and repairs and the hiccups will be few and start to vanish
I've had more powerful, quicker and faster machines myself and having all three elements is very nice but the Midget takes you back to the basic essentials and is so suited to Britian's fabulous minor A, B and unclassified roads where there are lots of great things to discover not to mention some of the very best pubs
have you found yet that you have to allow a bit more time at petrol stations or where ever you park as there's usually someone who wants to comment on your car
I remember taking my previous Spridget in for tyres and in the next bay was a very fast looking newish Porsche with the owner stood next to it, around my car were the three other customers talking about my car, I think also people (usually wrongly) expect Porsche owners to be more aloof and the owners of cars like the Midget to be part of their past so more approachable
and people tend you let you out of side streets more readily and smile and wave if you overtake
you'll also find if you wave most in other classics will wave back too
just think if you're smiling now what it'll be like in the warmer, dryer weather

I don't know whether to be glad or sad that you'd rather drive the Midget than a 911. I should be glad because I'm rebuilding one from a rusty wreck (another 18 months to go I reckon) and the effort will be worth it. However a part of me feels sad because I've recently purchased a 911 (964).

It must be destiny that Porsche owners need an MG or vice versa...
Not getting rid of the 911 just yet but I have just been offered an MGT Gt for free no ideas on details yet, all I know is it is grey and been off the road for at least two years, I did a sneaky drive bye earlier as it is the chap who lives opposite my Dads house that has said I can have it but could only see the roof and it was dark but watch this space and I will post some pics soon

The MG will just be an unexpected side line for me really although I will be selling the Porsche later in the year all being well, as tbh I'm a little bored of it now, had it for over six years but now have a GT40 itch that needs scratching soon
