My "B" is currently in dry storage for the winter, but I'm going to have to move it before long and it does tend to leak a little in heavy rain! It's proving hard to find garage space so I'm wondering about using a cover. My last experience with keeping a car this way was back in the 90s and resulted in the thing going mouldy, but I'm assuming that things have moved on since then. Does anyone have any experience of using exterior covers, such as the one from MGOC?

I have one of these fitted ones covering my B, about £120. They seem to last only about 18 months before they start to wear, but do have a 2 year warranty and my last one was replaced free of charge.

The car has stayed immaculate under it for the last few years, there is occasionally moisture/condensation on the car when I remove the cover in the cold weather, but no sign of damp or mould inside. smile

I have my B stored in one at the moment with an additional outdoor cover. All nice and dry. Plus at 6m[L] x 3m[W] makes for a great additional portable garage for working.

Can also be used for summer parties etc.

they keep well if you keep regularly driving them Tony wink

whoops, better not get myself into more bother

covers I've used:

I've used these to good effect, light in physical weight but full winter protection, useful dooor zips, can take two to put it on when it's windy, extra straps 'are available for severe wind conditions', pack away to a small light bag, extra protection for your areas of leaking, semi-tailored/sized(?), lots of information on the site - http://www.coverscars.co.uk/outdoorfullsizecar.htm

again theses were effective but the seams leaked on mine and they set me a repair kit that was thick plastic clear tape and bonding/glue 9this was a few years ago), the cover are quite heavy in physical weight and again can sometimes take two to put on or take off, less likely to blow off but still possible to blow up or flap about, quite bulky and difficult to get back into the storeage bag - http://www.classicadditions.com/heavyduty-waterpro...

or what about:

enquire about hinge height (for bottom of door) - http://www.foldinggarages.co.uk/carfoldinggarages....

this one I had the indoor version it was very good, I must declare that they advertise in our club magazine - http://www.carcoon.co.uk/outdoor-carcoon.html
