Hello All.

Hopefully someone could help. I am looking for an mgc engine, in good order preferably, or if anyone knows of a good engine builder.

Hi

I'm just having my c engine rebuilt by DAMICO race engines near Snetterton, he does mainly race engines but after seeing how he did mine I would not go anywhere else. Admittedly my engine is not standardhoping to go above 250hp this time.
Work areas like a surgeon all separate for different tasks.

Give Darren a call , tell him you were sent by Shaun who's C he has.

I got my recon short engine from Beech Hill Garage - it was a nicely prepared unit and still runs beautifully 20 years later!

There are a few bits on that engine I'd love for my C.

However repairing it after it's little scuffle with a bus the other day is taking my attention at the moment rolleyes

I do have a spare engine sat here, although I'm not convinced I particularly want to part with it.

Sorry Oli, youv'e damaged the car, I may have the carbs for sale , looking at going to throttle bodies and injection.

I spent a while tracking down a unlinered block last time home, so if you have a spare C engine i would hold onto it. Also cams are hard to come by.

I wouldn't mind too much if I had bent the car enjoying it.

The fact it wasn't being enjoyed or even driven by me at the time however............

Halfway through getting the new wing on it at the moment when the bloomin rain stops.

I need to use the spare cam I have in my engine, the previous owner put it all back together with a badly worn cam which is the source of the mystery noise rolleyes Not sure though whether to use the standard profile cam I have or get the worn one reprofiled with a slightly wilder profile, I'm far from certain it will give any real benefit as the engine sings anyway, but you know how tempting it is to play.

cams are like rocking horse at the moment so getting it modified is the way even a mild cam will make a difference Kent or Piper will do one , I found Piper very helpful when I had mine done, its a special just for me and it works a treat lots of torque with flatish curve pk at 4500 and peak Hp at 6500, no good for the road.
At 715 cam should do for road work with no other mods other than a maniflow manifold.

Well it's almost finished now which is good. Just about to go and put the final few coats of paint on the ally bonnet to get the nasty steel one off.

Then I need to start hunting some storage space sharpish!
