The big advantage over the 04 TF would be that they have got the HG issue sorted with the new LR Head Gasket kit which I believe is fitted to these engines as standard, plus they have a slightly more comfy ride from using better shocks.

I've got a 10 plate mgtf. Probably one of the last manufactured before they remodel it/scrap it.
I've had it four months, from brand new and done 1100 miles and absolutely love it.
It had a recall on a suspension part. All dealt with easily and no cost to me. When i first got it the engine coolant pipe had a leak (light kept coming on) which mg quickly rectified by replacing the pipe when they did the suspension
work. The brake pads need adjusted - it's going in next week to be done - again no cost to me.
Their sales, aftersales and workshop have been superb (apple mg in Kent). I'd thoroughly recommend them.
The car drives fantastically, it's great fun and with the roof down, wind blowing on a country road - it's just the most fun! Plus it's a very attractive car, in my opinion of course! I went for frost white with twisted pepper alloys and full leather interior and tear drop wing mirrors. The dogs!!
