Just looking around to buy my next batch and I spotted this stuff, Carlube Formula One 20W50 Engine Oil (4.55 Litre), their speil says "Carlube Motor Oil is recommended and approved by Morgan, TVR and Lotus cars."

Any truth in this?

So far as Morgans are concerned, This spiel is is a VERY general statement not least because it doesn't differentiate between the different cars in the range ( eg Trad, Aero and also the different engine types- trads currently Ford ( Sigma, Duratec etc but previously Rover in various forms as well; Aero- variations on BMW vee8)

In addition, if you visit the various Morgan forums you will see that there is debate within those as to whether one should use 20w50 or other viscosity and whethr to go synth or semi synth

I've never seen any 'official' blurb from the MMC which recommends it- certainly not to the exclusion of anything else
Don't know the situation re Tivs

It's true for TVRs.

Not sure if many use it over 'usual' brands though.
