Morning all,

Haven't posted here before and this is a bit of a long shot, but my best friend's wedding is approaching in July 2011 and after discussing a few elements of the day with him at the pub the other night, he mentioned wanting a Morgan as his wedding car.

I thought I'd approach the PHers first before enquiring externally to see whether anyone would be able to help with this request (I appreciate most people don't really want to be spending part of their weekend doing this!), or if not, whether the Morgan guys here can recommend specialist companies to either hire or chauffeur cars for these occasions.

I haven't yet done any extensive research into private companies as I wanted to see what response I got from here first. Model/spec etc isn't an issue and I'm sure some kind of goodwill fee will be included.

The wedding will be taking place in the Godalming/Guildford/Farnham area but the bride-to-be is still finalising the venue choices!

Any help/advice/offers are greatly appreciated!

I rented one in Falmouth, Cornwall, last year for my wedding. It made the day even more special for me, and was a good talking point for the guests.

I found a local dealer who also rented them, and it wasn't that expensive compared to the cost of just about everything else associated with a wedding.

(I don't know a dealer near you though, sorry.)

Mole Valley near Dorking http://www.mole-valley.co.uk/morgan.php are probably your nearest Dealer, but the full list is here: http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/sales/uk.php

I can't help with a Morgan for self drive, but dependent on a forthcoming European trip I can possibly offer a ride?

I can't promise at this stage but I live in Farnham, and I might be able to do a trip to the church? (or wherever he needs to get to if not a church). I could probably also then run him to reception if relatively local but as my Morgan is a two seater it would be a bit rough leaving his newly wedded to make her own way so soon I guess smile

That sounds fantastic! I really appreciate the offer. The wedding is booked for Saturday 16th July. If you are able to help, I'd be very grateful. I know that he would like one that he can drive himself in to the church, but I've already told him that this may be difficult, depending on whether I can find one to rent.

If you are available on that date, I would really appreciate it. Like I said, something will be sorted for your troubles as well as any fuel covered, although the wedding and reception will be taking place locally (Godalming/Guildford area).

Ok I'll get back to you ASAP.

Nothing required for 'my troubles' or for fuel, thank you for offering, if he's just getting married he'll need every penny himself laugh

Car will be white as well, how fitting smile

Thanks a lot Boshly, I appreciate it. I am also in the process of checking out rental to see which he might prefer.

Cheers for that link, seems like a good deal too for weekend hire. I think he would be keen on this, although I notice that for a little extra, Morgan themselves don't appear to have a mileage cap, so this may well be a possibility as well.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for the help so far!
