Any owners on here care to comment? What did those going up the hill at the Goodwood MMS think?

Seriously considering one as I can actually fit in it compared to the 4/4 Sport. Not sure how or why but I struggled in a 4/4 at Prescott when they were launched.

Something is definitely different to the launch 4/4 sports I drove at Prescott Hillclimb a while back. My size 12's were touching the steering column but no such problems on the Roadster. Maybe they have changed something since those days.

Ask on Talk Morgan, the 4/4 Sport and the Roadster Sport are not the same.

Apaert from the Trad body shape, totally different cars in many ways. Among other things 4/4 Sport is entry level 1600 Ford Sigma angine. Roadster Sport is Ford 3 litre Vee 6 Engine ( The first ones had the Mondeo ST220 engine, then the lump from the America- only 'Escape' engine. This has now ( very recently) been replaced by another version of the Escape engine modified to meet Euro regs. There are a few small measurement differences in the bodywork etc which may well give a feeling of more room in the Roadster Sport. For example, the front frame of the newest Roadster Sport is about an inch longer

Rich,
To be honest, I don't know but I'm guessing retro fit. On mine I went for retaining a tail pipe system but modified to a 200 cell catalyst instead of the 'stock' 400 ( It failed the MOT levels with a 100 cell unit on it!) on a 4 branch s/s tubular manifold running into a straight- through s/s pipe and a VERY small rear silencer.evil

Because mine is a 'silvertop' Zetec I couldn't use Rob Well's Librands Manifold becuase it is for the 'Blacktop' and in the Morgan this exits on the other side of the car, so I got Powerflow to make me one up

The reason I stuck with tail pipes was that I knew it would give me OK BHP, better breathing though the range and I was happy with the sound, so I left it at that.

As to the Roadster the Plus 4 and Plus 8 RPi Engineering do sidepipes which sound 'quite interesting' but I have no BHP figures.

I also recall that there was a very nice Plus 8 on sidepipes which had been done by RS Fabrications:

At present, RPi don't seem to be offering a sidepipe system for the Sigma engine in the 4/4/ Sport, so the only info I have for the 4/4 Sport is that the Aero Racing tail pipe system sounds the bizz

Nope - my bad - I think everything I post online comes across as vaguely sarcastic.
I was genuinely pleased with the detail in the answer as it's all stuff I didn't know.

Cheers! beer

Hey, I can do 'vaguely sarcastic' ( or even openly so) You will no doubt recall my regular rants about the Factory on TM- but I'm trying new medication now so that might improve it! bounce
