Hi All,

I'd like to ask those that know the S1 Aero8 well, if they think a 6ft5 (1.96m) person would feel comfortable driving one? I have neither a particularly long bust or legs and am definitely on the thin side (85kg). Yes, I know the only way to tell is to drive one but, as we know, they aren't exactly common and therefore it may be a while before I get to try one out (and my question just can't wait smile ).

Also, what is the view on the safety of the car in case of a roll? Would the windshield frame be able to withstand the weight of the car? I haven't been able to find any pictures of rolled Aeros, I assume there aren't many in the public domain.

One more question while I am at it, whats the quality of the components on the 2001-03 cars? I mean things like the wood on the dash, the wear of the leather, durability of gauges and switchgear etc. Part of the appeal of the Morgan is having a quality product but I have not so far seen many comments on this in the forums that wold lead me to think one way or the other.

Thanks for any responses!

I would expect your lanky frame to fit an S1. I'm a modest 6 foot, also slim and don't have the seat fully back when comfortable. There must be at least an extra 1&1/2 inches of adjustment rearwards left which would therefore make me comfortable if I was 6ft3in.

Can't answer your question on rolling, but no doubt someone here will be able to.

On my 2002 car with 40000km, black leather interior looks like new. I use an autoglym leather cream once a year. All wood and switchgear are also mint, though perhaps this is partly due to the car's owners, me & previous, being fastidious.

Cheers

Philippo,

Thanks for the quick reply. Its great news to know that there should be enough space even in the S1 versions. Also good to hear that the interior is holding up well.

Thanks again,
Riccardo
