Blimey, my first foray into the Morgan section!

Ive never been a massive fan of the A8 it has to be said and I preferred my RV8s in TVRs not Plus 8s smile When Moggy brought the GTN out though I thought that was so utterely seriously cool that my balls were in danger of frostbite. As I was but just starting out in my motoring ways I couldae afford one in my strippling youth, so drooled for a while and then well, truth be told forgot all about Moggy again. Like it seems (from a quick perusal of the forum this morning) many such chaps I was enjoying Tiv world and like said gentleman once we had done that and Tiv world collapsed in a shower of dust we have since been apondering what to do. Ive enjoyed my time playing in the Integrale world, but Ive flogged that and bought the missus a house. Moggies werent really on my agenda to be honest till the Supersports thingy was revealed and frankly it is drooltastically gorgeous, but realastically unavailable. It did however, get my thinking about Moggies again and the more I thought about it and ambled around here, the more Ive realised that the modern Moggy stuff are the logical progression route for an ex Tivver. This brings me nicely around to my first A8 drooling...the GTN.

At £50k (charlies GTN) it is looking almost bargaintastically tempting.

So annointed experts (except phazer who appears to be a bit of a tosser) tell me all and what I need to know about the GTN that I forgotten. And if bloody Der is on here aswell Im going to garotte him, every place Ive popped up recently enquiring about certain cars (Yes, I have itchy car buying finger syndrome atm!) he has appeared encouraging me to empty my wallet!

No.. no you really want it... you'd be blowing the Tiv's into the weeds.

The GTN you are looking at is Charles personal GTN... yes... currently up for sale in the classified's.

The GTN has a Carbon hard top and black wheels.. It also has the 4.6L N62 engine from the BMW X5. You can expect 360ish BHP but Aero owners have found benefits from simple re-maps bumping up the power.

Remember however, like all S1's the GTN runs Fully rose jointed suspension and directly mounted engine, gearbox and rear diff. This gives absolutely Direct drive with neck breaking accelleration.

The Wheels are single piece Magnesium in black and the tyres on the GTN are A048's. The interior is black leather. The GTN also comes with side exit exhausts and is only available in dark blue with Silver wings.

I know at least 1 other GTN which is used as a daily driver by an owner in Windsor who also parks in the street open to the elements.

If you like the GTN... check out the Road Legal Aero 8 racer at Russell Patterson Morgan... less money and a similar experience.. without the £50k price tag.

Now yer talking. Is it just a hard top, or did they make it a fixed head coupe for the whole rigidity thing due to the race car pretensions, etc?

The hard top is just that.. the structural regidity of the Aero 8 tub is massively beyond what would be acceptable... which basically makes the Aero 8 tub more than strong enough without the roof to stop scuttle shake etc.
Ergo the roof is only there to provide structural protection for the driver.

So the hard top is detachable, there is still a softop there?

Well its only taken me 2 days and I have become addicted. I *need* a GTN. Cant be done this year unfortunately due to buying the house at the start of the year, but I think next year will be Morgantime (unless del can finally tempt me in a Cl/Sl 65/456).

Just do it as Mr Nike says biggrin

Prices will never be so amenable again due to credit crunch (we hope) and the current success of Morgan and its Cars thumbup

Mr Nike alas isnt answerable to my wife! Nothing is really doable this year, I am not one of the ph'er who has seemingly limitless dosh lying about. When I spend a cpl of 100k on a property, the "fun" fund is well and truely dry for a while! We (like most of the rest of the country) are in full paying debts off mode at the moment, so this time next year I think and to be honest I dont think prices will do that much in the next 12 months.
