Saw my first Aeromax today...
Discussion
Saw the grille and headlights from a mile off and started walking over as I could see the owner was with it, however I didn't realise it was an Aeromax 'til I got closer. Incredible presence in the metal and totally jaw-dropping in the context of a residential street. I can't really think of anything else on sale with such massive charisma/good looks. Massively more desirable than any Aston for me (though perhaps I'm biased, I've loved the Aero 8 ever since I first saw a pic in a magazine). I like *lots* of cars (and have seen quite a few) but I've rarely had such an emotive response (i.e. lust) just from seeing something in the metal. Despite only spending 10 minutes chatting to the kind owner who pulled over to have a chat with me it's clear that the detail on it is unreal and it just looks like the heart and soul of the company has been poured into it. And it's so small! Wonderfully low, narrow, what a proper sports car should be. Sounded ace even at tickover and mild revs too. And the fact the owner was a nice bloke seemed to engender the fact that the owners are enthusiasts, not fashionistas.
Really can't think of any true competitors and the rarity/hand-built factor push it over the edge for me. Stunned.

I've always wanted to visit Malvern actually, my family home is in the Midlands so not too far away.
Re: the above. You can just tell that all the idiosyncratic details on the car are there for a reason. Because either there was a technical engineering reason for it or because the company wanted it like that. In many ways it is an undiluted concept, not bound by pedestrian impacts or general car trends or heads of design whose egos are more significant than their etchings.
You can tell I've been thinking about it all day!
And you've got every right to be biased, AeroMan, you have to me what is the most desirable car on the planet of probably the last decade. If memory serves me don't you usually go to Silverstone? If so I may see your beauty in the car park next month!

Wacky Racer is right, it's a great day out and a real combination of the old and the new skill sets. You'll really enjoy it, I'm sure.
Thanks for the further comments on the AeroMax, which echo mine completely. It will be interesting to see the AeroMax II to see whether they have been able to maintain that design purity. It won't be long now before we know more.
Regarding Silverstone, yes I'll certainly be there and we can meet up at some point over the weekend if you have time.

Silverstone - looking good http://www.fiagt3.com/gallerypic.php?countkey=0&am...
It'd be nice to have a chat to you!
(And now I *really* want to go visit Malvern... soon, perhaps...)
I emailed the 'press officer' for the Banque Sturdza (or whatever it's called) Morgan team asking if they had anything I could wear or similar to show my support for them at this year's Silverstone race. Normally I avoid branded stuff like the plague (I own no car related clothing or merchandise or even models), but for the first time ever I wanted to actively support a team. They were proving that privateers and proper engineering from the get go could duke it out with Ferrari et al, who have vastly larger budgets and workforces. Unfortunately he never replied but I shall be mooching about their paddock again, no doubt...

I'll PM you some contact details
So far the only branded item I have seen from Barings Bank Sturdza were some caps that they gave away last year at the annual bash in the south of France. However, it may be worth contacting the Club Morgan Aero 8 & Aeromax and seeing if they have anything available http://morgan.bbbsa.ch/index_en.php
