I have finally picked up the Aeromax 4.8L prototype which I bought from MMC last year, and here are some photos both at the factory and at Taplow House Hotel. The colour is Liquid Mercury, with a distressed black leather interior and dark wood.

Today, I've driven nearly 500 miles and the car is just superb, I can't get enough of it! driving

Stunning from the front, but still not sure about those rear windows though.....scratchchin

Think I would prefer them one piece but that's nitpicking.....

Congratulations - what a car!

Can you give us some driving impressions, how does it compare with the Aero 8, how refined is it etc ?

Was this the first one they made ?

The first one was produced as a one-off for Prince Eric Sturdza, using Series III under-pinnings and 4.4L engine. When the decision to produce a limited run was made, the first pre-production prototype also has a 4.4L engine with a manual gearbox. The second prototype - AR08 MMC - is based on the Series IV car and has a 4.8L engine and initially had a fully programmable automatic gearbox, as it was used to 'tune' the gearbox programme, but towards the end of last year a productionised gearbox was fitted. So yes Pete, it is the second prototype. smile

Thanks Brian, look forward to seeing you again next week.

Sorry mph, no time to write driving impressions as yet - too busy driving it! woohoo

Brian

The car looks simply stunning in these photos.

I think I may have to remove the rear view mirrors on my Aero8 to stop me looking at it all the time you follow me round the Angoulême ramparts.

Bon weekend to you.

Cheers

Philip
