i think I know the car. The owner was in Virginia Water recently when my Dad was posting a letter and I was at home. Dad walked up to him and mentioned that I was looking to buy one - and the chap was very friendly, saying that if he hadn't been in a rush to get somewhere for a Sunday lunch, he would have brought it to the house for me to have a look at.

I'm pretty sure the car you saw was one of the rarer S1 GTN models (hard top and black wheels)... he is another local chap (you may notice an unusually high concentration of Aero's in the area as there are several more local owners).

Are you sure it was not VX 53 KTG?? This is the Aero GTN tested by Hamster on Top Gear.

I do belive that that is the number plate and it does inded have some sort of compomotive black wheels.
