This months EVO dropped on the mat today.

It contains a very positive piece on Morgan and the Aero 8.

They test the new Aero and love it. They are praising of the performance, handling, value and the quality.

It really is a terrific piece - check it out.

I can imagine many readers taking interest in the Aero for the first time.

Read it in WHSmiths yesterday - as you said a great writeup for the car.
Only shame is it's not tested and given a star rating for a position in the Knowledge.

It is shame Morgan for some god known reason have press cars which are not perfect ... I am sure they could of fixed the clutch and brake pedal size for the journalist and comments about it bring the car down and it does not look good for Morgan....

A nice piece - and so true. Its just a shame someone has to let the cat out of the bag. The Aero was/is a gem hidden from many for the enjoyment of the few

I'm one of those EVO readers taking interest in the Aero for the first time....

Coming from a daily driver 993S, owned for 4 years, and now an Audi S4/B6 (owned for one 1 year but pretty bored of it) would I be foolish to think a Aero 8 could be used as an everyday car? ie. from a servicing/reliablity/depreciation point of view..the 2 seats, fuel economy ect dont bother me too much.

...SGT have a series 1 in stock and they are just down the road from me so I may pop in over the weekend to take a look.

Imho, the Aero is not a daily driver - and the S1 being even less so due to the more 'pure' nature of the car.

I drove mine daily for one month, with very varied results.

As the man says - you'd ahve to be a hardcore Morgan person to drive the S1 every day. I love mine but I ahve a 7 series for the day to day stuff.

The S3 on the other hand is much more equipped as a daily driver - more cabin space, airbags (no airbags on s1) easier to raise / lower less likely to leak roof, larger boot etc etc.

If you go to SGT - tell Julian that Rich with the light blue S1 sent you!

Whilst searching on youtube for Morgans (rather predictably), I found this and am now grinning like an idiot.

Enjoy.

Thanks Fruitcake, great isn't it! It's also on the EVO site as well.

I don't know where you are situated, but have you thought about going to Mog007. There's a two day Track Event on the Goodwood Track so you can hear Aero's being extended first-hand. Enjoy...

I'm in Cheshire. I didn't know about it but am seriously considering it now.

Though for me it'd be a bit like going to see Kirsten Dunst perform a striptease. Look but don't get

I would have thought membership of MSCC would be required for entry, as it is the annual gathering of the membership. Certainly would check before travelling from Cheshire.

I agree Les, but in my experience it is possible to pay at the gate for non-MSCC members. I will clear that point and re-post.

I've checked with a member of the organising committee for Mog007 and this is the reply:

"Yes, the guy on Pistonheads can pay at the gate on Sunday, £10 to get in. On the Friday and Saturday Track Days he should be able to walk in and view via the foot tunnel to the inner track or just walk to a good viewing point anywhere on the outside of the track."

I hope this means that you will be able to attend. biggrin
