Think I've just bought myself an aero 8.

Rang my insurance company (Classic Line)who quoted me £480. GULP.

Am I being tight? Is this the going rate for a 43 yr old with clean licence only wanting 2000 miles p/a. I live in a quiet Kent Village, locked garage behind gates, security monitoring system etc etc.....

Please tell me this is too much and that you can recommend a company that will do it for half ;-)

45 Years old (Though I look about 29 at the most don't I Andrew ).

No claims, no points, car garaged in Surrey 4th car and limited to 5000 miles. I paid £547 last year. Didnt really think it was that bad... until I reda this thread eek

Might try Churchil as my renewal is coming up.

28 years old, 6 years no claims, in garage, tracker etc, W Yorks, just under £700 with privilege.
Try autotorque. I have a friend with a noble who has got it much cheaper and it includes trackdays. The morgan specialist insurers will give you a low price, but I found will only give you a policy if you are over 30.
That said, my maserati cost me twice the price to insure

Looks like my quote was pretty good after all. Can't believe how much some of you are paying.

Morgan Insurance - £473.00, full no-claim, unlimited mileage, track-days and continental mileage included. Berkshire, always garaged.

Look's like your quote is indeed on the money.

You should have seen what it was with my previous car! Far as I'm concerned the aero is cheap as chips!

I can never understand how they come up with some of these premiums.

My 964RS is insured through Classic line for £400 agreed value etc. But when I was shopping around using all the so called specialist Porsche ins companies I was getting quotes up to £1500 for the same cover. Why so much variation? However they won't give me a price for the 997RS. Another company quoted £1200 which doesn't sound too bad in light of it's value and performance.

Congrats on the Aero purchase! Look forward to seeing a picture

I'm insured through the Morgan club with Morgan Insurance Consultants. Not sure who the final policy is with though.

Likewise, congratulations on your purchase of an Aero 8. I hope you'll post photos of it on the site?

I'm also insured with Morgan Insurance Consultants and the policy is the Sovereign Policy under-written by NIG Insurance and the exact premium is £475.73; though I'm quite a bit older than you!
