Does anyone know somebody that has placed a firm order, and deposit, for an Aeromax as the whole issue seems clouded in secrecy? I have spoken to a couple of dealers and they have not sold any so far, is the price too high for what is in Morgan terms quite a large production run of 100 cars?

I saw on one site that a dealer has apparently sold the first Aeromax order, can't remember which site, think it was Melvyn Rutter...

Berrybrook have sold one, but I do not know of any others.

I am sure they will find buyers but not sure for all 100 as that is alot of Morgans at 110k a pop.

It seems they are not sold out yet as they are still advertising them.

The sad this is that they will need to sell about 100 to make it viable.

Thanks Mr Tony, I just wondered if it was going to be a commercial success or if people felt it was over-priced? Obviously, Dealmaker does not think so...

I may be biased but I'd rather have the Aero with the option of a hardtop, should I wish for severe all weather protection!

While I love the shape of the Aeromax, with the revised v3 front end, the Aero seems to tick all the boxes for a fair bit less money.

And the Aero is hardly mass production... iirc, there are 500 or so in the world?!?

Agree with you Nomis, but as I rarely drive with the hood up even a hardtop is superfluous.

Agreed BUT if you need it, I'd plump for the HT over a fixed head

My Car - April 2005 - is chassis number 327 (from memory), cant believe 170 made in just over a year?? Maybe someone can enlighten us?

Andy, the Morgan book quotes something like 400 iirc up to 2004 - but then again, it could be incorrect... either way, we're talking low numbers!

Mine is chassis number: 350 - September 2005. We will know the latest update when Simon picks up his new car.

I figure these numbers include cars going to the USA as well?

Yes, when mine was being built there were no other Series II's being built in RHD, as they had an order for 100 (some say 120) cars for the States.

If the figure was 120, this would mean there was less than 230 Aero's in the UK as they also supply other European markets. Thus a run of 100 cars for the Aeromax is not exactly low volume by Aero standards.

Indeed!

I don't have figures, but was told by a repairer at le mans last year (2005) running an Aero (technically an unrecorded writeoff that thad been restored) that a lot of Aeros met sticky ends in the early days. Anyone know how many Aero casualties there have been?

I'd say it's probably likely that there are a lot less than 200 on the road in the UK (remembering that there are various cars in Europe too not just the US)

Yes, when I picked up my first one at the factory in 2002 I had about a 35 mins drive to do with the Sales Manager, as they wanted to make sure that I was competent to handle the power, as supposedly the previous week someone had written one off on his way home from he factory. Some 45 mins after taking delivery of it...
