After emailing Morgan and discussing hiring a Morgan with Andrea on reception, after copies of my driving licience were sent off, the hire was arranged - for today. Now being 21 years of age, it look slightly longer to fill out the paperwork and what have you, but at 10am today, i set off from the factory in Malvern.

First impressions were

- Christ - very heavy steering (something which i later got used too throughout the day)
- Difficult to get in and out (my disability didnt help but i managed fine)
- Very nippy for a 1.8, certainly not slow by any means (and thats after driving a Honda civic type r down to malvern)
- The noise - BLOODY HELL sounds fantastic.

So there we were, bright sunshine, chose just the right day for it. Cold but bright. Top down all day, covered a distance of 160 miles and used quarter of a tank of fuel.

It was FANTASTIC. people waved, smiled, looked. The attention was superb, and the car in general - well apart from the steering which would take a while to REALLY get used too, i LOVED it, so now im almost certainly going to sell my type r and get a morgan (This all coming around because i now have a Volvo 740GLE to get me to work and back (2 miles a day)

Hi,
I glad you enjoyed it. It looks like the Aeromax is close to production then. Is it a second car or is the poor Swiss owner not got it yet?

I did ask them when they were planning to put it into production and was told they are still very much undecieded whether they actually are going to produce it or not, so who knows, it might not go into production (although i hope it does, it looks stunning)

Good Man, glad you enjoyed it.........

Just been speaking to Morgan today, they are starting building my Plus 4 next week, so hopefully should be ready in around four/five weeks...

After MUCH deliberation, I have decided to opt for stainless wire wheels, rather than alloys, just hope they are not too much of a pain to clean, but as it will only be used on nice Summer days shouldn't be a problem ....

Don't worry about the stainless wires, just enjoy the driving! I have chrome wires and keep a thin film of spray oil on them after cleaning. The oil means they don't shine like new but look perfectly good for running about and the dirt just wipes off. Once a year I take them off and give the backs a wash and a coat of clear Waxoyl to protect the chrome. ...but it's the driving that counts! I was out in mine over the weekend, hood up and in the rain and it's still fun.

IMO the alloys look AWFULL. totally ruin the car. Wire wheels is the only way to go

Chrome wires definately, set the car off nicely. Not too difficult to keep clean, just do them regularly. I take mine off the car twice a year to keep inside rims clean and wax them maybe 4 or 5 times a year.
