Not a sausage from my dealer and I keep asking for updates - I still think it's one of the best looking cars I've seen in a long long time.

If only the deposit had been a smaller amount. Wondering if I should have been patient and put the cash I put into the Aero into an Aeromax deposit. Any idea if there are any slots available?

Hi,
Have you placed a deposit?

Contact the factory and contact your local dealer.

Good Luck.

I've got one in - just waiting to see if they are going to build it or not.

How much deposit did they ask for? I was told by my dealer that they have 60 orders so far. Im thinking about it.

I believe the deposit I ws quoted was 25k.
As a result and not knowing that they would build the car at all (plus the chances of the cost spiraling up) I went out and bought an aero at 40k instead.

If they do build the 'max for 70k as originally stated and deliveries start next year I'll be a mite distressed at having made a bad call. However given I expect the car to cost considerably more than 70k in the end, and tak considerably longer to arrive than 6 months, I think I probably did the right thing....

I think you did the right thing. I agree that I cannot see how it'll cost £70k, The car still has to be developed for mass production which is going to cost Morgan at least £3m (quoted by my dealer). If it does it will be a bargain.

How about a 1/43 scale model of an Aeromax in the meantime?

From the scuttlebutt I've heard I've come up with a supposition that the decision can go one of two ways:

1) They "tool up" for a medium sized batch with jigs etc to suit the bespoke body panels - expect selling price circa £80k - but maybe 70-100 of them (which I imagine the original Swiss owner isn't too keen on!)

2) They produce a very limited run of hand made examples (as per the "first off" and sell these to the more "well heeled" customers who had expressed an interest (Sheikh's and Russian Oil Baron's) at circa £200k each?

At this stage it soundls like option 2 is more likely than option 1 unfortunatley.

The problem they will have is that, North of £70k, many people will struggle psychologically, with paying that sort of money for a Morgan. (especially as it has a "cooking" BMW V8 engine).

Must admit that if the price does head North of £70k I will be considering my options, and talking to Weissman about the odds of getting one of their new coupes fitted with the new V10 M5 engine.

Now that would be one mean motor! I really like the look of the weismann too!
