My dad has a plus 4 about 2yrs old with the ford engine in it. He constantly complains about the slow rev drop off and quiet sound, especially after I took him out in the Elise.

Does anyone know who I need to speak to to get the Ecu sorted so the revs drop faster and who does exhausts etc.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Superchips?

Are you sure it is a Plus 4 and I believe only the 4/4 has the ford engine. They were not making a Plus 4 2 years ago.

Anyway Superchips are ment to help alot with the 1800 Zetec engine.
Thanks,
William

Fish, you might be posting to the wrong forum: go to www.emog.com and ask the guys there. What they don't know about Morgans isn't worth knowing. Friendly bunch!

Alternatively, check out www.gomog.com for further tips.

I can't help you with the Zetec: my Plus 8 has a modified 4.6L V8 (smile).

Good luck!

Fish,
To answer your 2 questions:

1: There is a removable restrictor that can be nocked out of the exhaust that will give a lower note (and doesn't mean getting a modified exhaust)

2: The low speed rev drop is most likely to be due to the heavy fly wheel used in the car. Morgan has not modified the main engine components and it runs a prety hefty fly wheel. The ECU only catches the rev dop once it gets close to the lower stall engine speeds.

The ECU certainly will give it more get-up-and-go but if all you want to do is make it sound nice you only need to knock the restrictor out, this also happens to reduce the back-pressure in the exhaust which will allow the engine to spin down slightly quicker.

We sorted our's after about 2 weeks. It's a 2001 4/4 4 seater. Can let you know where we got our's done if your a S/E mogger....
