Have Morgan Lost the Plot ?
Discussion
I'm a big Morgan fan. I've previously owned a Plus 8 and an Aero 8 and I've got a three wheeler on order. If I can generate some funds I'm very tempted to go for the new Plus 8 Aero.
But ...
They stopped production of the existing Roadster before the new one was ready (it still isn't)
They announced the three-wheeler and committed to delivery dates when it is now apparent the car hadn't even begun development.
Some of the quality issues coming to light on the three-wheeler wouldn't be accepted on a home restoration.
The most basic perameter of weight, which defines it's taxation class, has been messed up. etc. etc.
They announced the EVA and took deposits, where is it now ?
Looking from the outside some of these issues seem to be bordering on the incompetent.
I hope I'm wrong and I don't want to be seen as a prophet of doom but they appear to be too focused on PR which they can't follow-up with production.
Does anyone have insight into what's actually going on there ?

Are you talking about the Ford V6?
Maybe they can't get anymore engines.......
In September I was told at the factory that there were continuing negotiations to secure the 3.7L V6 plus six speed box. It was also evident that the new Plus 8 would be taking priority up to the launch in Geneva.
Three wheeler production is absorbing a lot of resources and was just starting back then.
So the announcement of the new Roadster production in November (with hindsight) looks optimistic, but at the time was a reasonable assumption.
With the diverse range presently in production it must be a major headache to manage production, but I can understand the frustration of potential customers. I'm looking forward to trying the new Roadster but I'm prepared to wait as long as it takes.
