It's to do with the width of the chassis rails and I believe the gap between the inner wings.

Why don't you ask again in the forums direct questions to guys that have done it, in my experience they are always very happy to discuss it.

No disrespect but I don't suppose the chaps in these forum give a toss if they fit in a TVR or not. And an LS in an MX5? WTF.

it is not that hard as long as you know what you are doing (thats the key). I know Topcats have a order to put one in a griff - not sure how different a chim chassis is to one of them?

I also think it is down to what LS you put in, if you have one with a wet sump then the chassis rails can be even more of an issue. I have a LS7 (dry sump) in mine with no chassis mods what so ever, i know some one else is doing one but modding the rails - I do not understand it myself, if you can do with without any mods then you may as well do it that way and you do not need to take the body off etc

Give Warren at Topcats a call and talk it through with you. He has done more than most and has a number of cars there either being done or waiting to be done over the winter.

Custom manifolds may well cost more than the engine to start with?

TVR Rv8 manifolds are shoe-horned in to start with wink

Sorry guys!

My recent encouragement of chimaera1855 to make a decision about his car just seems to have prompted another endless round of "what if" questions.

Apologies for reactivating him.

Will this ever end?

Can we have a nice post from Daz so we can resume normal play please wink

tks for some of u to still me and tks for some of u who dont like my topics.i will still ask how many questions as i have to get how many answers i need to make my final decision.as i told u before u dont like it dont read them.as simple as this.i even put it in an other forum not to disturb u with this.i had a reply from SCpower that the kit with aircon, intercooler and power steering will not be ready and will cost a bomb to custom it to fit my car.thats why i am back to choise 1 LS or 5 litres.i like the idea or tuning my engine but how much will it cost to get to 300hp and still be reliable???and i keep reading that to get a 5 litres to 300hp isn't easy as well.an LS1 is already making that standard.why it is so simple to fit one in an MX5 and will be a problem to fit in a CHIMAERA.exhaust custom made in Malaysia cost nothing so this wont be a problem.workmanship cheap as hell.so what next???source a good engine????if the T5 can take the torque of the Cerbera i dont see why it wont take the torque of an LS1!!!anyway 1 thousand apolozise to all of u .but once my monster will be done i ll Fedx u some beers deal????so be patient!!!2 more months to save money and do it.
