Help Wing Mirror Dropped OFF
Discussion
I seem to remember from past threads that there's a common problem with the mounting bracket breaking - a 3-point bracket & one of the points breaks. Apparently a cheap & easy part to fix (assuming your mirror isn't lost in some ditch somewhere).
Have a look back & see if you can find the thread. Can anyone else help?

This happened to me at the weekend as well so now I'm driving round with a droopy one
mirror that is...
Mine has snapped right at the circular collar bit at the stem of the metal frame.
If there's an easy way to replace the frame I'd like to know about because I was just going to bite the bullet and let a dealer fix it.
cheers...

Its a Citreon CX mirror, your local Citreon dealer will sell you one , take yours in to match. It will need painting. I fibre glassed the inside frame of mine and works fine, well its still there!!! I think they where also used on the Bugatti EB110 and XJ220 jag too, but they may charge!! mind you hav'nt seen many Bugatti dealers around.

Chimpboy,
I have posted on this subject in the past as I had to fix my mirror when a nice person snapped it off. Take a looks at the following post :

Its a fiddly job to say the least, but the mounting bracket only costs about £10 - £15. I guess that TVR would charge an hour or so to fit the part, but it took me the best part of a day. By the end though, I reckon I could do the job in about half an hour cos I'd put it on so many times. Remember to put some tape on the door to mark where the grub screw will end up. I spent ages with the trial and error method of tightening up the mirror only to find it pointing in the wrong direction.

I have just got one from a TVR scrap yard. Cost £50. Not to bad all I have to do is rebuild it with my shell so no repaint job.
I am going back on Saturday to see if I can bag some more goodies, Cerbie seats, alloy dash bits etc.
Will let you all know if anything interesting is hiding there.
Colin

This is an Irish one , they buy the bent TVR's on the mainland, ship them to N. Ireland , then sell the bits back to people well anywhere.
They are called Traynors and when you first talk to them they appear not to have or know what you are talking about, so ask for Bronia , she can sort you out.
They have a website which does not seem to work, but can be contacted at 028 3889 1242 / www.traynors.co.uk / email. dmc@traynors.co.uk
I will be there this weekend and will post a full list of any interesting bits I see.
