stalling in reverse
Discussion
My mate's just bought a 4 litre v8 96 Chimaera. he says its fine setting off in first, but when he reverses it keeps stalling. Having a S 1.5 myself i am unable to give him an answer. Is this just a trait of this car, or has he just got to get used to it?
With thanks to all you tarts with these expensive hot rods.

Hi Gadgit
This may be way off the mark but I had this problem with my Triumph Spitfire. It was fine going forward but when in reverse it would choke and splutter until it cut out. I had a few mechanics look at it but I finally realised that the screw I had used in the rear light housing was too long and was making contact with the reverse light! ie, when in reverse the electrics went tits up! Maybe its a short on the reversing switch or light? Just a thought
