OK, had the car serviced last week - everything done, car running very well. However, the throttle pedal seems a lot stiffer than before. I had a look at the mechanism in the engine bay and all seems fine. Is there anything in the footwell I need to look at? Is there any tension adjustment? (there were 2 return springs before and after the service BTW and I don't want to remove one since it compromises safety and it was fine before with 2 springs).

This change was done at service time, so I don't think it's the actual cable threatening to snap on me (famous last words).

I'll call the garage later.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Check that the carpet is not trapped underneath.

It's not that, I've checked - thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have a problem with throttle travel, just the effort req'd to push it (as the woman in a Jeep found out this morning and got all upset 'cos I passed her).

I had my Throttle return spring changed on my 500 at the last service for exactly the same reason - Too bloody stiff / heavy action. Maybe they did this????
