Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a new clutch at a sensible price for a 98 Chimaera 500?????

I'm not sure that the words sensible, price and clutch can exist in the same sentence when it comes to TVR clutches. Mine can't be far from a change.

Try the usual suspects, being the independents, not forgetting Joolz up North. Well worth shopping around.

Jacko

Try Offord Motor Co. (Simon), they advertise on this site. Give them a ring (yet to use them myself but all the Cambs, boys do apparently).

Straight up the M11 from you I think.

Are you having a 6000 or 12000 mile service done?
Do they charge the prices quoted on the website, or
does it come down to the individual car?

The reason I ask is that they are just up the road from me and my car is approaching a 12000 miles service.

I was quoted £495 before vat fitted. Sounds pretty good to me.

Actually, my 6000 mile service came in at 190quid, inc, although I may have namedropped the right people without even knowing it. Bought some extra oil from them and had some rear pads. Still less than 300 quid though. At many dealers it'll be nearly double that.

And the car feels *so* much better for it, although that could be because I'd just climbed out of a 196,000 mile Saab 9000 courtesy car!

those courtesy cars are an experience, the last one I had was a 120k 900 and it is the only car that I was afraid to go over 70mph in, if you accelerated it headed for the central reservation, if you braked it tried to become intimate with trucks and caravans on the left....I ain't complaining mind, just keep my baby running well

Actually, the 9000 wasn't too bad. Had it up to 80 or so on the twisties... which is when I tried the brakes . It did have some, I just had to search a bit!
