Hah. I travelled in this morning roof down! OK OK so perhaps not the dales. In fact - the Basingstoke ring-road! OK OK.

But at least I got the damn roof off!

Yep. Roll on spring!

Managed to get a 50 mile journey this afternoon which was great. Parked up at home now with the roof still off (working from home!) - just trying to justify any additional journeys that I can make..... But I have soo much work to do....

Ahhhggghhh....

Cheers,

Paul

Well what do you know, it's been sunny all day down south as well. Went out for a couple of hours earlier for a blast round the Chilterns, roof down, heated seats on, great fun - makes you realise why you love em so much eh ...

Only bummer was that when I pulled in for some Optimax I noticed that the front nearside wheel must have taken a knock from a stone or pot-hole which has damaged the rim, oh well guess I'll have to dig out the plastic padding and silver alloy spray this weekend to sort that out now. Rich...

Why is it when the winter sun shines the car is always in dock . One of my team has just bought an MR2 and picks it up tomorrow and I won't be able to park next to it to show it up

Well perhaps we will get some good weather the following weekend

Can't beat the Yorkshire Dales for a TVR blat. Fun to try and keep up with friends on bikes & have tail out action. (All within the legally prescribed speed limits of course). It seems that the car always feels really alive after a hard drive? Maybe just cause everything up to correct temperatures?

Hav'nt stopped grinning yet!! ho hum another TIV experience!! Wot fun. VINNY

Same here, went for a blast just to recharge the battery --- had to make an emergency dash to Halford yesterday for a spare battery so I could start my 2-week-abandoned Chimaera. Then a quick blat down the A26 -- hi to whoever it was in the black Chimaera: we flashed!

Fab weather...

Went for my first top down blast this weekend!!! (new owner)... bloody marvellous. Had my first tail slide too (damp surrey road) but managed to reel it in without looking like too much of a twonk. Even my nerves were ok after a bit. Boy oh boy am I looking forward to summer!

Oh its true!

Bought mine in not-so-sunny October and I cant wait for the days that I can drive to work with the roof down.

It transforms the car having all that extra noise to revel in I think.

Matt.

yes, plotloss you've hit the nail on the heed. Noise. That is what its all about. On that subject, is there a cost friendly method of getting more noise out of a 98 (and therefore quiet) 4L Chimaera. What are the pros/cons and how much will it put my insurance up? I want to be able to rattle windows and annoy the neighbours.

Most effective way of making big noise is to park it hard up against the garage door and rev it, by accident of course. Apparently really irritates the aged residents of a nearby block of flats , which is an entirely coincidental (and clearly unfortunate) effect.

I bought a sports exhaust from Zertec for my 95 Chimaera (same as yours effectively). Not cheap but makes a fab racket!

CurryMonster,

I've had a 3 qtr sports exhaust fitted by Steve Howard at Thames Valley Racetech, formerly of Hurst, now of Sonning Common. Sounds richer, bassier, and the improved burble will broaden that mad grin (and it won't break the bank ££). Certainly makes the neighbours sit up and pay attention. Had a full roof down blat this weekend, and it still makes me smile

Just got two new rear tyres fitted on Monday in anticipation of a long blast at the weekend to see a supplier and then it starts snowing like a bastad, 4" on the roads and -1 temp
