Does anyone have any magazine roadtest performance figures for the 4.5 Chimaera? The factory brochure states 0-60 4.7, 0-100 11.2 & max speed 160 (from memory). A Top Gear roadtest recorded 0-60 5.3, 0-100 13.3 and max speed in the region of 153mph. This seems to be quite a difference from the factory claimed figures (especially 0-100 & max speed).

Does it really matter - maybe a 500 is the answer!

The actual performance will obviously vary according to the conditions, the driver and to a small extent from car to car. So it is hardly surprising that some journo jumping in gets different figures to the factory. For what it's worth, my V8S as standard would get pretty damned close to the official 0-60 and standing quarter times under ideal conditions, nowadays it does 0-60 in about 4.5 and Den's 450 Chimaera is virtually identical in a straight line (we have tested this over many many laps at track days!). So I don't see any reason to doubt the official performance figures. In any case, however you look at it the actual performance is staggering, and the only production cars that will stay with it in the dry are boasting 400 BHP plus and cost a small fortune.

Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Either way you are still looking at being significantly faster than 99.99% of all the other cars on the road. Even at the lower end of the Top Gear figures, you would have to spend some serious money to get close....

Me, I am an amateur so I doubt that I could get close to the performance figures. I am just content that I can make more noise than anyone else (other than a pre-cat Griff...).

Cheers,

Paul
