Well, I tried changing the HT leads (Range Rover 8mm Luminetion ones - £54 for 9 leads!) but the misfire was getting worse... Started backfiring loudly so decided to take it Dave Batty to let him weave his magic.... It was getting so bad on the run down that I bailed out and got the RAC to transport it there...
Just waiting for him to call with the prognosis...

No idea, try some of the V8 performance specialists, perhaps they've upgraded someone's std meter and will pass their old one on to you. £400 seems extra steep though for what I believe is a std Landie part (someone may correct me here).
You could always sell your spare HT leads to help pay for the work

I believe £300 is nearer the mark for the Air Flow meter. (Still bloody expensive). It is badged Land Rover, but I think it is modified - can anyone confirm?
Not aware of any mods, but there are two specs of meter. Early cars used the hotwire meter from a 4.0 Rangie. Later ones use the bigger one from a 4.6 Rangie. No idea on cost but I wouldn't be surprised at low hundreds.
Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
