The time has come for me to sell my Chimaera but was wondering where I should advertise it for the best chance of a sale?

Also, any hints or tips when selling would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

Pistonheads is a good start - a number of people on this list seem to be looking for a car at the moment too. I'd suggest being sensible about the price if you want to sell relatively quickly.

I'd also put the word out among a few local TVR specialists, they may know of someone looking to upgrade.

Make sure whereever it is advertised you include a picture - stands out 100% more than a text only ad.

If its dark blue with oxblood leather, I know just the man....

Pistonheads is probably your best bet, as most people buying do their research first and if you type TVR into Google Pistonheads is always near the top.

The spec is as follows and any idea about how much I should ask would be welcome:

1998 R 4.5
20,000 miles - serviced at 18K
FTVRSH
Rosso Pearl
Full black hide with red stitching
All aluminium switch-gear
Alpine single CD w/extra speakers
Stainless steel kick plates
S02s with lot of tread left in them
Excellent condition inside and out
Always garaged

Would say about between £18k and £19k... may be £20k if it is absolutely mint.
My guesstimation tho'

Hi Ascender,

Why are you selling it? (Nosey y'see). I sold my Griff through Pistonheads, you could also try Top Marques although you'll get the usual muppets calling you (some nob phoned about my Griff & asked "is it a convertible?")

I would say 17-17.5k to actually sell it privately.

Nice colour should help, but mileage is thickish for a TVR (in dealer speak)
