There doesn't seem to be many people here who do much of their own maintenance. I would exclude normal service intervals to keep the service history up to date. Is this because......

1. Too difficult to work on?
2. Don't know how to?
3. Got too much money to burn!?

Im keen to do work on mine, however I feel it may effect a potential buyer if I was to sell it. How do they know if Ive done it correctly. So as I do low milage I have every other service done by a good specialist and inbeween ones I change oil etc myself.

I mean't things like brake pads, shocks etc., which you can't really get wrong, they either fit properly or they don't.

We're not all made of money , I try and do as much as possible myself, I've changed rear brake discs and shoes, the alternators been off, new fan belt, the starter motors been off more times than I can recall, and most annoying problems have been fixed on the drive (not even got a garage), but every year/6000 miles its off to the specialist (Colin Blower) to get that important stamp so the next bloke will buy it off me!
